Find out what Aurora York Central PROBUS has been up to.
October’s Dining Out was at the Aurora Scaddabush. For this well attended dinner we were seated at one long table and a couple of satellite tables. Our servers took very good care of us and as usual, there was much laughter and great conversation to go along with truly delicious food.
Please mark our next Dining Out, November 18, lunch at the Crow’s Nest Pub & Restaurant on your calendars and come share a pleasant evening with friends.
“Nibble and Mingle” afternoon party was a great social to welcome new members to the AuroraYorkCentral Probus Club. Over 30 current and new members enjoyed fabulous appetizers and beverages while getting to know each other and sharing stories. Thanks to everyone who participated!
Kristen Petri took us through her presentation ‘Artificial Intelligence And You’, using easy to understand layperson explanations and visual examples.
She explained the different types of AI, how they were created and how they already are or how they might be incorporated into everyday use. Kirsten discussed both the helpful and dangerous uses to which AI can be put. She also gave us a hands on demonstration on a couple of ways we could make use of AI as well as fielding questions from a very engaged audience.
Our presenter Kirsten Petri drew the winning ticket and Treasurer Marie Wallace presented Verne Cunningham with her winnings. Congratulations Verne!
VP Membership Director Anna Pilato and President Sylvia Wolff presented new members with their club badges.
We had another great turn-out for this month’s meeting. President Sylvia Wolff introduced her updates to the newsletter and Programme Director Leo outlined his plans for the way he intends to use a selection committee to decide on upcoming speakers. For the second time an information table displayed a wealth of useful articles and links. Please take a moment to check it out at our next meeting.
