Find out what Aurora York Central PROBUS has been up to.
September’s Dining Out was lunch at the Sweet Dutchess. We were seated at a great long table and served by attentive and efficient staff. There was a good turn out and as usual much laughter and great conversation to go along with our delicious food. We also got to help Brian Horton celebrate birthday!
Please mark our next Dining Out, October 21 at Scaddabush Aurora on your calendars and come share a pleasant evening with friends.
As is our custom after the meeting, several members went for lunch at the PD Diner where we discussed the morning meeting, solved the world’s woes, had some good food and most importantly, enjoyed each other’s company.
Unfortunately, our scheduled presenter Neil Crone, again had to cancel and newly elected Programme Director, Leo Ralph saved the day with entertainer, Carl Stemond. Carl got the place jumpin’ with a lively selection of pop tunes. There was plenty to toe-tapping, humming along and clapping to the rhythm. Several members even got into the swing of things by getting up and movin’ to the beat. The morning wrapped up with a surprise visit from Rod Stewart… what a fun way to kick off our new season!
Once more Carl Stedmond drew the winner for two tickets to a performance at the Aurora Cultural Centre. The Centre’s representative Sussi Aldridge announced the winner. Congratulations to Paula Greenberg!
Our entertainer Carl Stedmond drew the winning ticket and Treasurer Marie Wallace presented Christine Ingram with her winnings. Congratulations Christine!
VP Membership Director Anna Pilato and President Sylvia Wolff welcomed new members Terry Grice and Giovanna Casanova with their club badges.

President elect Sylvia Wolff, introduced the executive committee and gave a short overview of our Aurora York Central Probus Club through an on-screen presentation to our largest member turnout to date.
