Calling all Probus Club Theatre Lovers!
What a fun second year of stage plays for the Theatre Lovers Probus group. Thanks so much for everyone’s enthusiastic support! And thanks to Theatre Aurora for four terrific productions: Totally Scrooged-A Christmas Pantomime,, The Importance of Being Earnest, Where You Are and Arsenic and Old Lace.
The 2026-27 season at TheatreAurora has been announced and begins September 18-26. Please check back regularly to this website and the summer newsletter for dates and details. Meanwhile the descriptions of the five performances are available on the Theatre Aurora website.
The Theatre Lovers group is slowly growing and so far has stayed close to home where the quality of productions and the ease of working with the Theatre Aurora box office is much appreciated. It’s also been fun to go to matinees so that we can socialize over dinner at local restaurants.
I have, however, been keeping my eye on other theatre groups as well and if there’s enough interest in going further afield I’d be happy to arrange a group outing to a few neighbouring community theatres.
Special Announcement: I have learned recently about the popular Norm Foster Festival in St Catherines and being an unapologetic Norm Foster ‘groupie’, I plan to go to the world premiere of Euchre Night being performed at Ridley College’s Mandeville Theatre. The new Foster play follows four friends who’ve shared a weekly card game for 32 years. But when romance enters the mix, even the steadiest hands begin to shake! Tickets are $50 and are going fast so I’m going to be purchasing mine within the next two weeks. The date that seems to show a good number of seats still available is Sunday, August 16 at 2 pm. If any Probus members are interested in joining me please let me know asap.
Thanks…..have a great summer!
