Artificial intelligence is already part of daily life, often in ways we do not notice. From voice assistants and online shopping recommendations to fraud detection and medical breakthroughs, AI is shaping the world around us.
In this interactive session, Kristen Petri will explain what AI is, how it works and where you may already be using it. She will explore its benefits and challenges and help make sense of this rapidly changing technology.
Live demonstrations of AI powered tools will be included.
About Kristen Petri
Kristen is a Toronto based professor who teaches courses on Conspiracy Theories and Intercultural Communication. She also gives talks on AI literacy and ethics for everyday audiences. Drawing on her experience of seeing AI appear in her students’ work, she encourages audiences to question the information they encounter: Where does it come from? Who made it? Why?
