Find out what Aurora York Central PROBUS has been up to.
We held our first Dining Out of the new season at The Crow’s Nest Pub in Newmarket where we caught up with friends after summer vacations and enjoyed some really tasty food, warm conversation and plenty of laughs. All in all a wonderful way to kick off our new Dining Out season.
Be sure to check the website calendar for our next Dining Out. Events Calendar
How about joining us on our next Dining Out? Just go to the website Contact Form and let our Social Director Susan Pratt, know you’d like to attend. That said, these outings have become quite popular and it would be very much appreciated if you would let Susan know you are coming even if it is last minute thing.
Our own Leo Ralph, chair of Seniors Programme for Crime Stoppers and Dave Forster, Canada’s representative to Crime Stoppers International, introduced us to and talked about the impressive work that Crime Stoppers does to help police agencies bring criminals to justice. Crime Stoppers is not an arm of the police or legal system and are completely anonymous. Few, if any of us knew much more about Crime Stoppers other than perhaps the signs we see posted around our community. While the record of convictions provided by Crime Stoppers is substantial their deeds go unsung because of their dedication to absolute anonymity.
Crime prevention is our shared responsibility: Find up-to-date crime data in York Region on the Community Safety Data Portal, or become a partner in community safety by signing up for the Security Camera Registry today.
Our guest speaker, Dave Forster from Crime Stoppers of York Region, did the honours and drew the winning ticket. Which was won by new member Carm Cornacchia. Congratulations Carm
