Find out what Aurora York Central PROBUS has been up to.
Enjoying the company of friends and good food, never gets old. Conversation before dinner was lively, thought provoking, full of good humour, accompanied by toasts and clinking of wine glasses but became slightly less boisterous as we tucked into our meals. Dessert followed with visiting and more conversation. Good food, good friends and laughter… what more could one ask for?
Be sure to check the website calendar for our next Dining Out. June Calendar
How about joining us on our next Dining Out? Just go to the website Contact Form and let our Social Director Susan Pratt, know you’d like to attend. That said, these outings have become quite popular and it would be very much appreciated if you would let Susan know you are coming even if it is last minute thing.
Our own Trevor Stephens saved the day when he covered for a presenter who was unable to attend. It was truly a last minute request and Trevor pulled a very interesting talk and slide presentation on one of his family’s driving trips, out of his hat.
These trips, as Trevor explained, are something the family has done for many, many years and his and wife Penny’s way of keeping the family together. In doing so they have seen most, if not all of Canada and parts of the United States but given the current political climate, Trevor wanted to present us with an all Canadian, family adventure.
His choice was to take us on an east coast trip that wound its way from his Aurora home, through Quebec, Labrador, Newfoundland, St. Pierre, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Magdalen Islands and New Brunswick. It was a wonderful travelog filled with photos of iconic Canadian landmarks and other points of interest with running commentary on the family’s experiences as well as providing planning insights for any who might wish to do something similar.
Trevor had an attentive audience after which many members remarked that Trevor’s presentation was one the most enjoyable they had attended. Good job, sir!
