2025 HAPPENINGS – February
February – Dining Out At State & Main
We had a lively group turn-out for lunch at State & Main. There was lots of chatter and laughs accompanied by a steady clatter of cutlery to plate as we enjoyed our meals and the company of friends. The food was delicious, the wait staff very attentive, all said and done… a great way to pass a couple of hours.
February 12 – Dr. Andrew Lindsay
Presented our members with a lively and interesting talk on Tim Horton, Hockey Star and Businessman.
Many of us grew up in the days Big Number 7 and the Toronto Maple Leafs team were on fire. Sports enthusiast Dr. Lindsay gave us an in-depth look into the man’s life. From the young years when Horton was making his start, through the height of his career to Horton’s latter years when he realized hockey was no longer going to support himself and family. We learned of Tim’s business ventures and of the genesis of what was to become a giant in the world of fast-food restaurants.
