Find out what Aurora York Central PROBUS has been up to.
For many of us this was a first time dining at the Slabtown Armoury and it didn’t disappoint. We had a very friendly and efficient waiter and excellent meals. All of which made for a wonderful outing with lots of lively conversation and plenty of laughter.
One of the first topics of conversation was “What was the armoury before…”. This brief pictorial history can be found on a wall at the Slabtown Armoury.

Unfortunately our scheduled presenter, Dr. Frances Morton-Chang, was a no-show due to a calendar error.
We thank Past president Vern Cunningham who kindly filled the gap with an informative talk about things happening in Aurora. Vern told us a little about the Aurora Seniors Centre and the good work done by several service and charity groups. Then, to spike the punch, so to speak, Vern added a drop whiskey to the mix, explaining the difference between the spellings “whiskey” and “whisky”as well as putting in a plug for the Whisky Tasting Club.
Trevor Stephens pulled this month’s winning 50/50 ticket. Marie Wallace presented the cash. Congratulations Brian Horton!
